You are invited to join the Inter-Faith Fellowship on a day trip to Sandy Spring, just four miles away. The group will have a guided tour of the Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, including a one mile hike on the trail and a tour of the museum. The Underground Railroad Experience Trail evokes the experience of enslaved freedom seekers on their way north, The Woodlawn Museum highlights the area’s agricultural landscape, the Underground Railroad, local free black communities, and the Quaker experience in Montgomery County.
The group will gather at The Chapel at 9:15 am on Wednesday, May 29 to carpool. A non-refundable payment of $6.00 per person is required in advance. The natural surface trail through the woods includes stones and roots and is not ADA accessible. The tour will take place indoors and outdoors and requires constant standing and walking. Volunteer drivers will be necessary to make this trip possible. After the tour, the group has an option of going out to lunch at a nearby restaurant.
