Hymn Sing Sunday 2017

In our service on Sunday, July 9, The Chapel worshipped by singing some of the great hymns of the faith.  We thanked God for the gift of music and lilt of song.  Each of the hymns was introduced by the "writer" telling their personal faith journey and the story behind the hymn.

Elizabeth Brooks-Evans portrayed Frances Ridley Havergal who wrote Take My Life in 1874.  The writer Thomas O. Chisholm of the classic favorite, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, was represented by Jack Colvis.  Anglican priest John Newton, portrayed by Roman Czujko,  wrote Amazing Grace in 1779.  Bill Pailen acted in the part of Thomas Dorsey, writer of Precious Lord, Take My Hand.  Maggi Lindley took the role of Adelaide Pollard, writer of Have Thine Own Way.  You may click the button below to read the stories they shared in the service.
