Dr. Robert W. Perry has served as the Senior Minister of the Inter-Faith Chapel since August of 1999. Prior to that had has served as the Senior Minister of North Chevy Chase Christian Church for 19 years. Dr. Perry is an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He has served churches in Pennsylvania and Texas. He is married to Debora Hawkins Perry who is a Montgomery County Public School teacher. They have two adult children, Rob and Bethany. At the current time Dr. Perry serves as Moderator of the Christian Church in the Capital Area. He also serves on the board of the Montgomery Hospice, Bethesda Cares and United Campus Ministry at the University of Maryland, College Park. Rev. Judith L. (Judy) Birch, Minister of Outreach, came to The Inter-Faith Chapel in November, 1987. She is an ordained United Methodist deacon. A graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary, Judy preaches once a month, teaches a Bible Study Group, provides pastoral care in diverse settings, and acts as staff liaison with the Missions Committee, the Outreach and Fellowship Committee, and the Leisure World Interfaith Committee for the Homeless and Working poor. The mother of two children, Becky and Jeremy, Judy now lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Dr. Ramonia Lee, Minister for Congregational Life, is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry), University of Richmond and Hampton Institute. She was ordained as an American Baptist clergy woman in 1989. As an Inter-Faith Chapel Minister, Ramonia preaches once a month, teaches Bible study groups, conducts worship at several local nursing homes and assisted living facilities, coordinates Christian Education events, and provides a variety of pastoral care to the Inter-Faith members. She is on the board of several national and regional organizations that deal with older adult issues. Dr. Karen Bartman, Minister of Music, came to The Inter-Faith Chapel in August of 1998. She had previously been Director of Music and Organist in Jefferson City, Missouri, where she also operated an independent piano studio for 20 years. Karen holds degrees in music performance (BM), music history (MA), and music education (Ph.D.) from the University of Missouri. She is a Past-President of Missouri Music Teachers Association, and has been active in Arts Education and Advocacy organizations. Karen teaches Suzuki Piano at the Levine School of Music and is an active accompanist in the DC Metropolitan area. At the Chapel, besides playing organ/piano/keyboard for the worship, she directs three Chapel choirs: Chancel Choir, Men's Chorale, Women's Chorus, and the Handbell Ensemble; and also organizes the annual Inter-Faith Chapel Concert Series. Linda Faith, Administrator/Facilities Manager, was born and raised in the Metropolitan area and currently lives in the Leisure World community in Silver Spring, Maryland. She spent most of her career as a mortgage financial manager. Linda joined the staff of The Inter-Faith Chapel in January, 2001. Linda has oversight of the financial records, building upkeep and general office administration. Sharon Longley, Administrative Secretary and Courier Editor, feels that fate played a role in getting the position of Secretary with The Inter-Faith Chapel in February of 1996. She is not just the smiling face that greets those entering the office or the pleasant voice answering the phone. Sharon does many tasks and is committed to using her skills for furthering the best interest of the Chapel. Prior to 1996, Sharon spent eight years as secretary for the Education and Recreation Offices of Leisure World. |
